MARK R. ORMOND ~ Managing Partner
In 1995, Mark Ormond left a highly successful career
with a technology division of Price Waterhouse to build Capstone Consulting as a Founder and
Principal. His unique ideas about the digital age provide thought leadership and unique solutions in many disciplines to clients in a wide variety of industries. Mark joined Price Waterhouse directly from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee with a degree in Accounting and Business.
Prior to joining Price Waterhouse he had a five year career career in sales and marketing with Wiess & Neuman. Mark joined Price Waterhouse in 1978 as a consultant and eventually rose through the organization to having significant US and World
Firm responsibilities in Chicago, New York and London. In Chicago
he was Vice President of Human Resources for the TTG
Group where he gained extensive IT knowledge, marketing and technology industry
recruiting experience working under the direction of Steve Desmond, a Managing Partner with the firm. In 1991 he was promoted to the Vice President level
from his role as Director of Recruitment for Price Waterhouse's
Midwest Region. Mark began his Human Resources career
in 1982 working under the direction of Les Shonto, a partner with the firm. His career in Human Resources was preceeded by a successful career within the Business Advisory Services department in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he was a Senior Consultant with clients in the healthcare and financial services industries.
During his long tenure at Price Waterhouse, Mark hired many managers and partners for the firm and personally
managed thousands of searches, both domestic and international. In the role of Director of Recruiting, Mark represented Price Waterhouse at hundreds of colleges and universities across the country including Harvard and Yale and internationally at Cambridge and Oxford in England. He conducted searches at all levels for the Audit,
Tax, and Consulting Services departments for Price Waterhouse offices
throughout the United States and conducted on-site placement in the Chicago, New York, and London
offices and recruited for offices throughout the United States. Prior to founding Capstone Consulting, Mark was affiliated with Clarey & Andrews, a boutique executive search firm located in Northbrook, Illinois.
Since leaving Price Waterhouse Mark has handled a wide range of assignments, allowing him to bring his broad industry experience and detailed business perspective to clients. in 2004 under his direction, Capstone Consulting broke new ground by developing digital "magazine style" subscription content for the Internet. He also has expertise in executive search, strategy, mediation, marketing, information technology and human resources issues of all types. He also is an expert in many areas of marketing and selling on eBay, including automobiles, collectibles and designer label clothing. His broad based business experience spans many other areas of expertise, including sales initiatives, accounting and finance, taxation, customer and brand strategy, organizational design, web site optimization and design and general management. He is a trusted business advisor to leaders in numerous companies, and works exclusively with executives in top management. Mark prides himself on the ability to remain pragmatic while still employing a tremendously creative approach to problem solving for his clients. In addition to his achievements as a search consultant,
Mark recently served as a keynote speaker on the topic of search
strategy, and the utilization of research and cutting-edge technology
in executive recruitment, addressing audiences in Chicago, San Francisco,
and Toronto as part of the IQPC's seminar series. Since joining
Capstone Consulting, Mark has successfully placed numerous executives across
a wide range of industries in various functional areas, and prides
himself on establishing ongoing relationships with highly satisfied
clients.
Mark handles all of the day to day operational issues for the firm and provides client support to a variety of clients. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin,
and has gained extensive human resources training through Price
Waterhouse's professional development programs, as well as through
various seminars and workshops. Mr. Ormond is also the past President
of the Printers Row Chamber of Commerce and a Board Member and past
President of the Prairie Single Family Homes of Dearborn Park and the founder of Clubber's Elite Baseball, an urban Chicago baseball academy and program which provides instruction to urban youth interested in playing competitive baseball at an advanced level. Training facilities and games are played at Les Miller Field, on the campus of the University of Illinois, Chicago.
