As of 6:00 am Saturday morning it is raining very hard in downtown Chicago. Initial games for the day are being postponed.

As of 10:00 am, Saturday morning UIC has notified me that the Les Miller Varsity Field will not be playable today. UIC will begin working on the field at 5:30 am to be ready to play tomorrow.

We are looking at playing some of the games on the UIC North Field (old varsity field) on Sunday also. Stay tuned to the Clubbers Tournament web page site for further details or call Mark Ormond at 312-480-9955.

All games lost due to the rain on Saturday will be moved to Sunday. All teams are local so the tournament will be played out to a conclusion with the Playoffs and Championship Games played on a mutually convenient weeknight.

Tinley Park Bulldogs vs. Niles Notre Dame

** A challenge was made during the 5th Inning of the game played by Tinley Park against Notre Dame High School on a birth certificate issue.

Notre Dame has been provided until 9:00 am June 15 to provide the birth certificate that has been called into question. The tournament is still in process and the Tournament Director has provided Notre Dame High School with this timeframe to provide the birth certificate for the player who is being challenged.

The birth certificate for the player in question was faxed to the Tournament Director on June 15. The player IS age eligible with a birth date of December 20, 1990.

However, because Tinley Park is challenging that the rule required that the birth certificate should have been on the field an Elimination Game (date to be determined) will be played to determine who advances for the last seeded spot. Teams who will advance to the playoff round will be the Clubbers, Lincolnway East Blue Demons and Illinois Select and the winner of the Elimination Game.

Illinois Select was top seed for Quarterfinals and will face the winner of the Elimination Game. Clubbers and Lincolnway East Blue Demons will play in the other Quarterfinal Game.

The Chicago Cardinals are the only undefeated team and will get a bye to the Championship Game.

All games lost due to the heavy rains on Saturday were moved in the same sequential order to the end of the previously scheduled Sunday tournament games.

If a team decides not to continue in the tournament a forfeit 7-0 loss will be recorded, for purposes of determining seedings. If a team is unable to continue on with the tournament because of their commitments to a high school baseball team, the Clubbers will provide an invitational date for a game to be played at UIC Les Miller Field as a consolation.
