Clubbers Get Clubbed, 26-12
Wheels Fall Off as Pitching Runs Out!

Chicago, IL. In the first game of a Doubleheader series at the University of Illinois -North Field on Saturday, April 10 the Clubbers were Clubbed by the Lake Zurich Cougars 26-12 with good hitting, solid defense, and a deep pitching rotation. Things got ugly and the Clubbers gave up 20 runs in the final three innings and committed 13 errors in the game. Oh well.

"The Cougars are a very good hitting team, said Clubber Assistant Coach, Kevin Burrage. They came to play and they are very aggressive. Once they get you down, it is a track meet. This will be an experience to learn from at this early point in the season and we have to be proud that we kept fighting back until all our pitching was gone. I am confident that we will close this gap, said Burrage."

Angelo Burrage continued to have a hot bat going three for four with a 3 RBI HomeRun (1st HR of 2004 Season) in the 3rd inning and two doubles. Burrage had 8 RBI's for the game. John Kinsler went two for four and had 4 RBI's and Jason Cohen played his first game as a Clubber and finished the scoring with a 2 RBI Triple.

Depleted pitching from the previous night doubleheader series games versus the RedHawks, combined with sloppy play in the field make this a game to forget!
