Clubbers Lose Game #1 in Tournament to Tinley Park! 8-4
Clubbers Muster Only 4 off Bulldogs Pitching!
Chicago, IL. The Clubbers opened the Schools Out Tournament they are hosting at the University of Illinois - Chicago. Game # 1 was against the Tinley Park Bulldogs .
Played on the Clubbers home field, the Clubbers were the visiting team as they lost the coin toss and eventually the game too! Silent bats, poor base running, bases on balls, and very poor play in the field took the Clubbers completely out of their game.
The winning pitcher for the Bulldogs was Otero and the losing pitcher for the Clubbers was Burrage. The Bulldogs scored 8 Runs on 3 Hits and way too many errors! The Clubbers scored 4 Runs on 4 Hits and 4 Errors.
The most exciting thing happening for the Clubbers during the game was an errant foul ball which came down on the hood of a passing vehicle on Roosevelt Road. The driver came to a screeching halt, and wanted the batter charged with damage to his vehicle. Clubber management protected the identity of the batter and advised the vehicle driver to file a claim with his insurance company for the unfortunate incident. Case closed! The UIC Field is notorious for errant foul balls going in every direction. On Friday night they were going in the Street and not going in the field scoring runs.
Next up for
the Clubbers are the Hinsdale RedDogs at IIT
on Saturday morning.

Clubbers Go Into Extra Innings to Get Tournament Win! 7-6
Kinsler Gets the Win; Williams Scores Winning Run!
Chicago, IL. The Clubbers played Game # 2 of their Schools Out Tournament at the Ed Glancy Field on Saturday morning vs the Hinsdale Reddogs. Despite very heavy rain on Saturday morning the Clubbers Coaches and Parents worked hard to drag and prepare the field. The excellent drainage of the IIT field made it all possible. The game got started just a few minutes later than scheduled. The 9:00 am game at UIC had to be cancelled and rescheduled due to the poor drainange of the North Field.
This game was played on the Clubbers home field, but once again the Clubbers were the visiting team as they lost the coin toss. But luck and good play prevailed on the field as the Clubbers eeked out the victory in the 8th Inning.
Ryan Williams opened the game pitching for the Clubbers. Hickman came into the game to get Williams out of a jam but did not have his pitches working and was eventually replaced by Burrage and then Kinsler who got the Win. .
The Clubbers scored 7 Runs on 10 Hits and 5 Errors. The RedDogs scored 6 Runs on 6 Hits and 3 Errors. The Win puts the Clubbers at 1-1 in tournament play for the weekend.
Next up for
the Clubbers are the Lisle Wolves on Saturday
evening at UIC under the lights at 7:00 pm.

In the top
of the 7th Inning a key hit by Dai Bowden scored
and tied the game. In the bottom of the 7th
Inning with Kinsler pitching, the first out
was to the Pitcher who made the Out. The second
Out was by Ormond who snared a Line Drive at
his shoe top. The Third Out by Dominique Bell
saved the game and got the Clubbers to the 8th
Inning. Bell made an impossible catch on a ball
hit over his head, but his speed and tremendous
athletic skills got the ball in his glove for
the Third all important Out.
In the top of
the 8th the Clubbers scored 2 Runs to take the
lead. In the bottom of the 8th Inning it was
1-2-3 and the Clubbers got the Win to be at
2-1 in the tournament. Kinsler was the winning
pitcher. The Clubbers scored 8 Runs on 12 Hits
and 0 Errors. The Wolves scored 6 Runs on 7
Hits and 1 Error.
However, the
win could not capture the Division as Tinley
Park went 3-0 in Tournament Pool Play and won
the Division. All the Clubbers can do is hope
for some luck as they are mathematically alive
to advance as the Wild Card.
Wait and see.....

Clubbers Out Hit Seminoles in Loss! 9-8
Clubbers 16 Hits over Seminoles 11 Hits Comes Up Short!
Chicago, IL. The Clubbers advanced to the Playoffs of their Schools Out Tournament at the UIC North Field on Sunday afternoon as the Wild Card and it took a lot of things going right and working out for the Clubbers to get the opportunity to face off against the Schaumburg Seminoles for the right to advance to the championship gme. The Clubbers had defeated the Seminoles in a SPBL game just a week earlier and things started out favorably for the Clubbers.
It took losses by the Glenview Blaze and the Homer Heat for the Clubbers to be the Wild Card. It seemed as if everthing was going for the Clubbers as they won the coin toss to have the homefield advantage.
With Mike Olp on the mound for the Seminoles the Clubbers jumped out to take the early lead scoring 6 Runs on 11 Hits against one of the best pitchers in Illinois at 13 years of age. At the end of 4 Innings it was the Clubbers 6 and the Seminoles 3.
More to come......

Clubbers Suprise Launchers in 6th Inning! 5-4
Rogers Pitches Flawlessly to Get the Win!
Lombard, IL. The Clubbers traveled out to Lombard to play a game at Glenbard East High School. The Clubbers have faced the Launchers twice this season and are 2-1 against this powerhose that is hampered by injury. Notably big man Savas.
Burrage opend up the game for the Clubbers and pitched well but was not helped by his defense as Errors cost the Clubbers Runs. it was Chris Briggs the Launcher other big man who opend up the game on the mound and held the Clubbers to no hits until Ormond got on base with a Single.
Chris Rogers came in to releive Burrage and pitched flawlessly getting the win. Kinsler made an outstanding play to end the game. At the conclusion, Assistant Coach Dan Mack hoisted the bantam weight Rogers and carried him off the field.

Let Darkness Decide The Game! 6-6
Clubbers Let One Get Away!
Chicago,
IL. The Clubbers hosted the Lincolnway
Blue Demons in a game at Ed Glancy Field. A
poor 3rd Inning and an Error ridden 6th Inning
were very costly for the Clubbers.
The Clubbers
took the early lead in the bottom of the 2nd
Inning on consecutive Hits from Gowder, Geiger,
and Ormond to get on the scoreboard first. Then
a Double by Speth gave the Clubbers a 3 Run
Lead.
In the top of
the 3rd Inning with Geiger on the mound the
Wolves answered with three consecutive hits.
However, a costly error by the pitcher and 2nd
Baseman not covering 1st base on a routine play,
resulted in 2 Runs scoring. Then a HBP and a
Triple by Matt McElmury put the Wolves up as
they scored 5 big runs in the Inning on 4 Hits
and 1 Error.
In the 6th Inning
with Chris Rogers on the mound and pitching
well, it was 3 Errors that cost the Clubbers
another Run (E-4, E-6, E-7). Burrage had several
key outs in Centerfield as he played an excellent
defensive game. The Clubbers rallied in the
bottom of the 7th Inning to tie the game on
Hits from Lopez and Burrage. The game might
have been won in the 7 Inning but for Hickman
getting picked off of 1st base.

With the game
tied at 6 Runs apiece in the 8th Inning, the
Clubbers were in position to get the Win with
bases loaded, 2 Outs and Dominique Bell up to
bat. Bell slapped a solid hit to Center Field
which seemed to be the game winner as it was
dropping however, a game saving catch by the
Demons Center Fielder ended the game in a tie
at 6 Runs apeiece as darkness was rapidly falling.
The Ed Glancy Field does not have lights so
both teams went home with the "tie"
no-decison.
The Clubbers
scored 6 Runs on 11 Hits and 2 Errors. The Demons
scored 6 Runs on 6 Hits and 5 Errors. Once again
take away the Errors and the Clubbers get the
Win! Practice with Dan Mack at Ed Glancy Field
on at noon on Friday for those who can make
it.
The Clubbers
will play in the CABA "Summer Tip Off"
with games at the Hawk Complex and Peotone High
School this weekend.
